PSU Deer Study

Penn State Extension and the Woodland Owners of Clarion-Allegheny Valley are hosting an event at the Sigel Sportsmen’s Club for the public to learn more about white-tailed deer. Speakers will include myself as well as representatives of the Bureau of Forestry, PSU Extension, and the Quality Deer Management Association. 

Presentations will include habitat management, findings from The Deer-Forest Study, and an update on diseases in deer in Pennsylvania.

A limited number of racks will be scored by Tim Smail of QDMA for a small donation. You must reserve a space to have a rack scored by calling 814-226-1901 for more info and to register your rack.

Where: Sigel Sportsmen’s Club

Time: 8:30am – noon

Cost: Program is FREE (lunches will be for sale by the Club)

Directions to Sigel Sportsmen’s Club: From I-80 exit 78, Brookville, go north on Rt. 36 for about 7 miles to Sigel.  Turn right on 949 and travel east for ¾ mile.  There is a small sign for the Sigel Sportsman’s Club on the right side, immediately before a clearing in the woods. Go back the long lane, thru an open gate, to the clubhouse.
